What to put on a plumber invoice
- A service call or trip charge that covers travel and diagnosis
- Labor at your hourly rate, including time spent isolating the problem
- Fittings, pipe, valves, and fixtures at the price you intend to charge
- Haul-away of the old fixture and any water-damaged material
Notes worth adding to a plumber invoice
- Your license number, if your state requires it on paperwork
- Permit number and inspection date for permitted work
- Make, model, and serial number of any water heater or fixture installed
- Your labor warranty period, kept separate from the manufacturer warranty
